PRIVACY POLICY

How we handle information across our website, games, beta builds, multiplayer features, and browser-based tools.

Stellar Doctrine Games

Privacy Policy

Effective August 25, 2026

1. Scope and Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Stellar Doctrine Games ("Stellar Doctrine Games," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit stellardoctrinegames.com or use a game, beta build, browser-based tool, multiplayer feature, or other online service that links to this policy (collectively, the "Services").

This policy applies only to Services operated by Stellar Doctrine Games. Third-party stores, platforms, websites, and services have their own privacy practices. If a third-party platform collects information directly from you, its privacy policy controls that collection.

Compliance Framework

Stellar Doctrine Games complies with the applicable requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the COPPA Rule, including applicable compliance requirements arising from the Federal Trade Commission's 2025 amendments; the Federal Trade Commission Act; the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA); the Texas Securing Children Online through Parental Empowerment Act (SCOPE Act), where applicable; the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA); the Colorado Privacy Act; the New York Child Data Protection Act; the Maryland Kids Code, where applicable; other applicable U.S. state comprehensive privacy and children's privacy laws; and, when their territorial requirements apply, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), United Kingdom GDPR, and applicable electronic-privacy requirements.

These laws differ in scope, definitions, thresholds, exemptions, and effective dates. A reference to a law does not mean that every provision applies to every Stellar Doctrine Games Service. Where a law applies, we follow its applicable notice, consent, data-minimization, security, retention, parental-control, and individual-rights requirements.

2. Age Eligibility and Children's Privacy

Users must be at least 13

The Services are intended for a general audience age 13 and older. They are not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 must not use a feature that collects personal information, participate in online multiplayer, contact us directly, or submit personal information to us. Users ages 13 through 17 may use the Services only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

Our practices for minors

We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. We do not sell minors' personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, serve targeted advertising based on activity across unaffiliated services, profile minors for advertising, or intentionally collect a minor's precise geolocation.

For known users under 18, we limit personal-information processing to what is reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and maintain the Service the user actively requests. We apply privacy-protective defaults and do not use dark patterns to encourage minors to disclose unnecessary personal information.

If we learn that a user is under 13

If we obtain actual knowledge that we collected personal information online from a child under 13 without legally sufficient parental authorization, we will stop nonessential processing, restrict the child's access to affected features, review the information, delete it from systems we control, and instruct applicable service providers to delete it, unless limited retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, or completion of the deletion process.

Parent and guardian requests

A parent or legal guardian who believes a child under 13 provided information to us may email privacy@stellardoctrinegames.com. Please provide enough information to identify the relevant interaction without sending unnecessary sensitive information. We may take reasonable steps to verify the requester's identity and parental authority before disclosing or deleting information. Verified parents may request review, correction, or deletion of their child's information and may refuse further collection where applicable.

3. Information We Collect

Information you provide

You may provide information when you request support, send feedback, participate in testing, exercise privacy rights, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name or display name, email address, message content, diagnostic information you choose to send, and files or screenshots you attach.

The Services do not currently require a Stellar Doctrine Games account. If we introduce accounts or materially different collection practices, we will update this policy and provide any required notice before collection.

Information collected automatically

When you access an online Service, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver, secure, and maintain it, including:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • browser type, device type, operating system, language, and referring page;
  • date and time of access, pages or features requested, and basic usage events; and
  • error reports, performance information, network events, and security logs.

We do not use this information to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertising.

Game saves and editor files

Game saves, settings, and files opened in the browser-based Game Data Editor are generally stored on your device, kept in browser storage, or downloaded to a location you choose. The editor is designed to process selected save files in your browser. We do not intentionally receive their contents unless you send a file to us for support or a feature clearly informs you that it will upload the file.

Multiplayer information

Multiplayer features may use peer-to-peer connections and supporting network services. Other participants and connection-service providers may receive technical connection information, including IP addresses and session identifiers, as necessary to establish and maintain a connection. Players may see a display name, game settings, and in-game actions you choose to use in the session. Do not use your real name or disclose personal contact information in a display name.

Information from third parties

We may receive transaction confirmation, platform identifiers, support information, or aggregated reporting from distribution platforms and service providers. We do not receive full payment-card information processed by a third-party store or payment provider.

4. Purposes and Legal Bases

We process information only for specified purposes. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies, our legal bases generally include:

  • Service performance and requested steps: operating the Services, providing multiplayer connectivity, responding to support, and delivering requested features.
  • Legitimate interests: securing the Services, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing failures, measuring basic performance, improving compatibility and gameplay, and maintaining business records, where those interests are not overridden by individual rights.
  • Consent: optional communications or optional technologies where consent is required. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
  • Legal obligations: responding to lawful process, protecting legal rights, complying with tax or recordkeeping duties, and meeting applicable privacy and security requirements.

Providing support messages, diagnostic files, and other voluntary information is optional. If you decline to provide information necessary for a requested feature, connection, support investigation, or legal verification, we may be unable to provide that function.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Tracking

The Services may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies necessary for site operation, preferences, game state, security, network communication, and basic measurement. Strictly necessary technologies may operate without consent where permitted by law.

We do not currently use third-party behavioral advertising. If optional analytics, advertising, or other nonessential tracking is introduced, we will provide required notice and consent controls before activating it for users in jurisdictions that require consent. Browser controls may delete or block storage, but doing so may reset settings, remove locally stored game data, or prevent features from working.

Because there is no uniform standard for browser-based "Do Not Track" signals, the Services may not respond to them. We honor legally required browser-based opt-out preference signals when applicable to our practices.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers that perform hosting, content delivery, communications, diagnostics, security, multiplayer connectivity, distribution, payment confirmation, or other operational services on our behalf.
  • Other multiplayer participants, to the limited extent technically necessary for a peer-to-peer session or information you choose to display in the session.
  • Government authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or enforce applicable agreements.
  • A successor or transaction participant in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business or its assets, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
  • Other parties when you direct us or clearly consent to the disclosure.

We require service providers to process information for authorized purposes and to apply appropriate confidentiality, security, retention, and deletion protections where required by law and contract.

7. No Sale or Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not use personal information for targeted advertising based on activity across unaffiliated websites or services. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of users under 18 for those purposes.

8. Third-Party Platforms and Links

Some Services may be distributed, hosted, or accessed through third-party platforms, and the Services may link to third-party websites. Those parties may collect information under their own privacy policies. Review the privacy settings and policies of any third-party platform you use. Community, discussion, or social features operated by a distribution platform are controlled by that platform rather than Stellar Doctrine Games unless we expressly state otherwise.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the specific purpose for which it was collected, including providing support, maintaining security and transaction records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. We consider the amount, nature, sensitivity, operational need, legal requirements, and risk of harm when setting a retention period.

Operational and security logs are retained only for the period reasonably needed for security, diagnostics, abuse prevention, and infrastructure operation. Support communications and voluntarily submitted files are retained only while needed to address the request and maintain appropriate business records. Information stored only on your device remains under your control and can generally be removed by deleting the relevant files or browser data. We do not retain known children's personal information indefinitely.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process. These include limiting access, maintaining security and incident-response procedures, and selecting providers that offer appropriate protections. No internet transmission, storage system, or security measure is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for protecting your device, game files, multiplayer codes, display name, and credentials used with third-party platforms. Do not send passwords, payment-card data, government identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive information through support email.

11. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence and subject to legal exceptions and applicability thresholds, you may have rights to:

  • confirm whether we process your personal information and access it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • obtain a portable copy of information you provided;
  • opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; and
  • appeal a decision regarding a privacy request.

Because we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not currently provide a sale or targeted-advertising opt-out. If our practices change, we will provide required notices and controls before the change applies.

California residents: We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Texas and other state residents may exercise applicable access, correction, deletion, portability, and appeal rights through the request method below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

12. European and International Privacy Rights

If the GDPR, UK GDPR, or another applicable privacy law covers our processing, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing; receive portable data; withdraw consent; and lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority where you live, work, or believe a violation occurred. These rights may be limited by applicable exceptions.

Stellar Doctrine Games is based in the United States. Information processed through online Services may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate. Where legally required, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may request information about applicable transfer safeguards.

We do not use personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning an individual.

13. Exercising Privacy Rights

Submit a privacy or parental request to privacy@stellardoctrinegames.com. Describe the Service and request and provide only the information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant records. We may verify your identity and, for a child's request, parental or guardian authority. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any legally permitted denial or appeal process.

If we cannot identify you from the information we maintain, we are not required to collect additional personal information solely to identify you, although you may provide additional information to support a request.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the website, a Service, email, or another reasonable method. We will obtain consent before applying a materially different practice where required by law.
